The Digital Dawn show planned for September 15 in Rockland, MA, has unfortunately been cancelled. We are looking to re-schedule the show at another good all-ages venue in the Boston area. If you know of a venue, please e-mail Josh at jkastorf at yahoo.com.
Light Installation by Sean Stevens
“Simply put, I create Living
Art which interprets the environment around it. Music. Light. Video. People’s motion. Physical surroundings. My
Art hopes to both inspire and be inspired by these things.”
Musical Performance by Rob Byrd
For many years Boston-based
guitar player Rob Byrd has been performing improvised ambient music in a wide
variety of settings from the legendary CBGB’s in New York City to the Burning
Man festival in the Nevada desert. Fascinated by how sounds exist in time and
space, he treats electric guitar with various signal processing equipment to
spawn sonic pieces that are shaped by the location at which they are being
performed and by the energies of those present. The aim is to create a shared
experience of reflection and meditation which resonates between performer,
venue, and audience, but can also be enjoyed purely on a musical level as well.

Video Art by Eric Love
Eric Love’s many creative
passions include painting, illustration, teaching, and performing with his rock
band Ultra Plush. His exploration of
video art includes an inventive visual montage designed to accompany Rob Byrd’s
music.

spiritual synthesis, a transformative process, and a way of being.”

naturally found in many environments.

phenomena.

as well as the macrocosm in life.

Feature Film: Crypto-Candida
Have you ever wondered where
dreams come from? Do they bubble up from memories and subconscious desires? Are
they created by elves, witches, and fairies? Yes. All of the above. And those
elves, witches, and fairies have dreams too, and so do the creatures they
encounter in their dreams, and so on.
In a dark and mysterious realm
called the Nothing, an elf named Crypto is just doing his job, producing
content for mortals' dreams. But he wishes he was somewhere else, a world of
color and music-- Fairyland. The only problem is, Fairyland was only a dream,
and the dreamers have woken up. To find it again he'll need the help of many
friends-- a woodland witch, a poison apple dealer, a former cat actor, a
sorcerer prince, and the long-lost muse who helped him realize he was an elf.
Along the way he'll explore the dark despair and the brilliant joy that color
the worlds of dreams and inspiration.
Crypto-Candida is a
fantasy/comedy feature shot on video. A deeply heartfelt four-year collaboration
between a team of talented artists and performers allowed it to evolve into a
visual and auditory feast of unique costumes, make-up, sets, music, puppets,
and visual effects. We guide our audience through many worlds, both dark and
jovial, with sarcastic improv and somber poetry. Our goal was to inspire a
revolution in low-budget videography as a unique fine art on the verge of
spectacular digital bloom.
